Traditional IPL (Intense Pulse Light technology)  utilises high-energy light to achieve long term hair reduction. IPL works by progressively reducing re-growth of hair by applying pulses of light to heat the hair root/bulb (hair follicle). With the intense heat applied to the hair bulb this then damages the root of the hair (without damaging the surrounding skin), impairing it ability to re-grow and damaged hair follicles are then eliminated. 
Traditional IPL requires the hair to be dark (brown-black) as the controlled flashes of light are absorbed but the dark pigment within the hair. 

SHR stands for Super Hair Removal and it’s the latest breakthrough innovation in IPL technology. 
SHR is much like the traditional IPL treatment but instead of delivering individual shots to the treatment area, SHR scans over the treatment zone- gradually hearing the skin with repetitive pulses until the hair follicle is destroyed, resulting in stunted hair re-growth or complete elimination of the hair follicle. Session times are slashed in half, making SHR perfect for larger areas of the body such as legs and arms. The added bonus of SHR is that the gradual heat distribution, means treatments are very comfortable and virtually pain-free making it ideal for even sensitive skin types.
